From Dusk Till Dawn

Through Thick and Thin (I), oil on canvas 2016. 100 x 130 cm.
The work is back in the studio after a showing in KL and Singapore. This work was inspired by all the faceless migrant workers that are making their contributions to the economy of Singapore. It is estimated that there are more than 350,000 Malaysians working in Singapore according to the Malaysia’s Human Resource Ministry. And I count many of them in my group of good friends. This was part of the group exhibition titled 'Bilateral Bonds' presented at Taksu Galleries, featuring works by Singapore and Malaysian artists exploring the diplomatic relationship between Singapore and Malaysian since 1965. The Ombré background of this series shows the passing of day and night, dusk and dawn. Do make enquiries if you wish to see the works in a private viewing.
